PlayStation is now cloud based gaming Sony's streaming service that resolves the compatibility problem by bringing back PS4 PS3 games for the PS Vita, select Bravia TV and Sony PlayStation as devices not tablet and smartphone.

Set to launch in the United States before summer, Sony has yet to announce when PS4 owners in the United Kingdom can expect to gain access to PlayStation now that will be available as a rental or subscription service.

Working in a very similar way to the OnLive gaming service less the little cloud, PlayStation box now will flow through the platform of games gaming Gaikai cloud. According to the representatives of PlayStation proving the service will require a broadband connection of 5Mbps the least to keep things running smoothly.

It is worth noting that the PlayStation is now included as part of PlayStation Plus service then you have to pay extra for the privilege of playing PS3 games and shooting through compatible devices.

Sony is focusing on bringing a library of PS3 games for now, but has yet to say how great this catalogue will be when it launches. We'd like to think the original PlayStation games and PlayStation 2 could be added and it is something that Sony is not entirely ruling out. On the showfloor, the last of us, by la: two souls, puppeteer and God of War: Ascension were running on one of the TVs range 2014 Sony Bravia and a PS Life so it looks like we can expect popular titles from the last console generation Sony to appear.

We couldn't see the PlayStation user interface now jumping straight into the last of us playing on the PS life and God of war TV Bravia Ascension with a DualShock 3 controller. How PS4, remote play PS Vita maps additional buttons for controls on the back of the portable Sony. Both showed little signs of latency or delay and played like I do on the PS3. Playing on the showfloor at CES is of course to be a very different perspective running on a broadband connection at home so it will be interesting to see how it copes in a ' normal ' environment.

From the outset, Sony has been hammering home the message that its next generation console is for players and PlayStation now has the potential to be another great feature new wave under the noses of an Xbox owners. Having a good enough internet connection is going to be vital, however, and we are a bit disappointed that it will not be included as part of PlayStation Plus. If you really miss playing at your favorite PS3 games, PlayStation now sounds like it's going to be a great way to make it a reality.
