Bethesda announced today the opening of a new Office of Sydney, Australia. The new location will handle sales, marketing and distribution in Australia and New Zealand.
The Office will be led by Simon Altos, formerly Director of marketing games one company to another Pty Ltd. one to another worked with Bethesda on a number of prior runs, including Skyrim.
Our take
Australia is an interesting market, and it is strong for Bethesda to have a presence. In addition to the current classification system in the country and an assessment of the strangeness is a significant price difference between Australia and other regions.
A recent Government report found not justified differential needs, which appears to be based on currency conversions, which are years removed from is important. The price difference is so significant that informally is called as "Australia."
The proposed changes include reforms to the country's competition and consumers and the Copyright Act. My hope is that the differences of unfair pricing will be narrowed and that Bethesda's presence in this country will play a positive role in this.
