GameStick, financed by Kickstarter Android console similar to Ouya, slated for retail sale in September.
GameStick raised over $ 647,658 on Kickstarter (also in its original goal of $ 100.00). His big selling point is its price ($ 79) and its size, which makes even the diminutive Ouya look like an animal. It is basically the size of a thumb drive and connects to your TV via HDMI. It also features a modern controller yet retro, that our editor Ben Reeves felt a bit uncomfortable in this hands-on preview. The word is now that the console will be shipping on September 30, which is confirmed by the pre-order on commercial sites. Will probably be sent to Kickstarter supporters before going to retail sales.
It will be interesting To see how it fares.[Source: Liliputing via Destructoid]
Our take:GameStick is interesting; small size makes it to home TV console that is truly portable (especially because it does not require any cables or connectors). In addition, $ 79, it's almost impulse buy (this is very similar to the Google TV project, both peripheral Chromecast and price). However, as we have seen with Ouya, it turns out that the home console business is not easy. However, given the fact that the original target was $ 100,000 only Kickstarter, I imagine that GameStick has a more realistic goals, and therefore more accessible definition of success.
