Plants vs Zombies 2 hits nearly 25 million downloads, PopCap releases celebratory Infographic

Plants vs Zombies 2, now iOS exclusive free-to-play sequel Plants vs. Zombies, already has been downloaded nearly 25 million times.

According to PopCap Games has now to download the original game. It is not clear whether this is a comparison of download-only version of iOS is the first Plants vs Zombies, or all digital versions, including PC, Xbox Live Arcade, etc.

Our take
I'm not sure if this metric is not necessarily eligible plants vs zombies 2 as a huge success, dwarfing the original. The game is of course good, but it's free. I have a copy downloaded, but admittedly have not yet started to play in it. I'd be more interested in monetary comparisons between sales of Plants vs Zombies and a sequel. In any case, 25 million downloads is nothing to scoff at. It is very impressive.
