
It was a year ago in Los Angeles Startup Weekend that Matt Arevalo and Chris Davis met the idea to geek culture and send it to people every month. After the first run, fifty people signed up within the first five hours. Within 12 months the company shipped its first field, grew to 15,000 subscribers with month to month 20 to 30 percent growth.
Arevalo and Davis, to fit together perfectly, with the former coming from the IT industry, with experience in social and digital titles, and the second about e-commerce experience. Davis founded the players before food, which the energy snacks for fans of video games, and has worked with companies like devleoper League of Legends riot games.
Each month, loot a crate selects about (the latest was "cake") and a small box full of items that are part of the geek culture. About 40 percent of each box is directly related to the subject, with the rest linked to General geek culture and video games.
