When the second auction of THQ was completed and transmission licenses purchased Homeworld, many fans of the series were disappointed that Kos Interactive does not come away with it. The Studio was founded by Rob Cunningham, one of the original Relic Entertainment (the creators of Homeworld series). Now, the license has to come home.
PAX Panel 2013 gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford announced recently signed between studios, which will put the Homeworld license in the hands of Cunningham and Kos for the purposes of making Homeworld: Shipbreakers. The transaction comes with many millions of dollars of investment and Kos is now hiring to bring the project to completion.
In addition, the Homeworld and Homeworld 2 will be released in a classic and HD formats in the first half by 2014. HD version includes an improved animatics and texture. The price and release date have not yet completely closed in.
