Double Fine content creation for PS4 in the playroom

Last week in 2013 the Gamescom in Cologne, Germany, Sony announced that the playground will come pre-installed on all PlayStation 4s. Game shows augmented reality system capabilities with a collection of games that can be played with a lot of people. Today the tournament PAX Prime 2013 in Seattle, Washington, Sony revealed that Double Fine will be creating new content for the game.

Details are scant at the moment, but Sony says that a partnership with Double Fine to bring DLC to the playroom. We'll have to wait and see if this new content will be available when the PS4 begins November 15.

Our take
Racked up Double Fine to create new content to play shifted the package in the title of the obscure Novelty to something with a little more weight behind it. Double Fine showed it knows how to create a basic experience of AR with Happy action Theatre, but we are interested to see if the developer can create a more immersive games with a children's play room.
